Chia seeds are the edible seeds of the plant Salvia hispanica. They gained popularity once they were labelled as superfood. Chia seeds contain a high amount of calcium, iron, protein, and vitamin B3. Whether you like superfoods or not, making a chiapudding is extremely easy and delivers a beautiful result. And the taste? It’s to write home about. So grab your pen and paper!

FUN TO MAKE WITH KIDS

Because you can garnish this dish with a variety of toppings, it’s a delicious recipe to make with children. Let them all take turns adding something yummy to the topping, so the pudding becomes a real treat for everyone in terms of appearance and taste!

Note: After preparing this recipe, it’s not ready for consumption straight away. This chiapudding with peanut butter needs to settle in the fridge overnight.

PREPARATION

  1. Heat the milk and peanut butter in a saucepan and stir until smooth. Note: do not bring to a boil. Put it in a bowl and allow to cool for approx. 15 minutes.
  2. Stir chia seeds into the mixture.
  3. Let it settle for 5 minutes, stir well once more and cover.
  4. Let it settle in the fridge overnight.
  5. The next morning: Take the chiapudding out of the fridge and garnish with toppings of your choice.
